Preston Page, Head of Retail at adidas Korea, shared
his thoughts on the store opening during a media day event held on the 11th at
the ‘adidas Originals Dosan Flagship Store’ in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
As the center of Korea’s fashion scene shifts toward
Seongsu and the Dosan Park area, adidas Korea has begun actively targeting
so-called “fashion hotspots.” Following the opening of its Seongsu store in
April, the company is launching its second flagship store near Dosan Park.
The adidas Originals Dosan Flagship Store will
officially open on the 13th. A distinctive feature of the Dosan flagship store
is that it transforms a former residential building into a sculptural retail
space.
The exterior was designed to harmonize with the
refined atmosphere of the neighborhood, incorporating a curved metal curtain
wall and natural stone objects positioned at the entrance.
Upon entering the store, suspended rails hanging
from the ceiling extend along the product display lines, while a large digital
screen installed in the center visually communicates the brand’s message.
On the first floor, adidas’s signature apparel and
footwear collections are displayed alongside graphic T-shirts available
exclusively at the Dosan store.
The second floor, designed as a dedicated space for
premium lines, features a Y-3 shop-in-shop as well as separate rooms for the
Statement and Premium collections.
In addition, sculptural lounge chairs reinterpreting
product materials by artist Jaehoon Oh and paintings by artist Miki Kim, which
combine an Eastern sensibility with an urban mood, are displayed throughout the
store.
Meanwhile, to celebrate the opening of the Dosan
flagship store, adidas Korea is running a promotion offering a “Dosan
limited-edition reusable bag” to customers who purchase Superstar products or
spend more than 200,000 KRW.
